A Revolutionary Rennisance…kind of.

The Birthday Celebration and screening at the Alamo Drafthouse in Austin, Texas was a huge success. The boys, Lars and Zack, were showing both The Pyramid and an old Steckler film, The Thrill Killers. I did a stunt gag with Lars to open the eve., he presents me with bottle of Champagne, we argue, he walks away, I cold-cock him with the bottle (which has been a break-a-way all along.) People really dug The Pyramid, after alll of these years…then, the audience sang Happy Birthday..and presented me with a small cake, lit by one candle..”a light in the dark, just like you movie”…it doesn’t get much better.

I couldn’t stay all the way through Thrill Killers, although the house was sold out…who knew?

John Herndon, Drew Thomas and I made a trip to Mabank, Texas, a sleepy little village near Chuck Bail’s horse ranch, Freeborn Farms. We were there for a couple of days filming the “extras interviews” for the Rainy Day Friends DVD. His little filly is cute enough to take all of the prizes. WE go her on camera, and a grat interview with Chuck that should inter-cut nicely with the Lelia Goldoni interview done in L.A. Oh, I’m getting ahead of myself here. Anyway, finished the shoot at Town Lake in 106 degree heat. Now I find out it’s that section we may have to reshoot. I figure we should be done by late August, early Sept. in time for school…:)
